We leave tomorrow!!
I really, really cannot believe it.
Tonight we turned in our suitcases at the church and they are taking them to the airport for us, so I can quit stressing about what to pack and finally just GO. Our parents prayed over us and we packed extra suitcases full of supplies, so we're all set.
I know that there are about five million things to pray for concerning this trip, but I am going to be selfish and talk about what I am concerned about. This group that I'm going with, The People's Church youth group, is one of the most tight-knit groups I've ever met. They all seek God with all of their heart (as far as I can tell), and that shows so clearly in the way they treat each other. They are (mostly) all best friends, and I hardly know any of them. I know this is so selfish to be worrying about making friends on a mission trip, but I would really appreciate it if , while you're praying, if you could just throw in a request that strong relationships would be formed within our group as well as with the people of Malawi.
Hopefully, I'll be in touch! Text me if you can, it's free, and I would love to hear from you! I may or may not be able to reply.
Peace.

Malawi- 2 DAYS!

Alright, well, here is my blog!
I've decided to get a blog because I will be heading to Malawi, Africa in 2 days.. wow that's so soon... and I want to be able to keep everyone back home up to date.
So, I will be updating this for the next few days, and then hopefully I will be able to update it a few times while I'm over there just to let everyone know that we're alive..haha. And, I'm sure I'll have plenty of stories that I'll want to share when I get back!
Right now, I'm kinda freaking out trying to get ready.. I think I'm WAY overpacked, but that's ok. Plus, I have about forty other things that I'm trying to get finished before I leave, like my graduation thank-you notes. Joy.
Just to let you know a little about my trip -
We are going to be flying from Nashville to Washington, then to London where we are going to have a layover for a whole day! I'm pretty pumped about that. Then we fly to Nairobe, Kenya, and then to Lilongwe, Malawi! Lots and lots of traveling. We will be staying at the Adziwa childrens home, meaning "He knows," for two weeks, and we're going to be building houses, teaching classes, heading up VBS, etc.
I've never been on a mission trip out of the country before... so this should be interesting!
Please pray for our team!
